Have you seen the news?  Read an article on your tablet?  If you have, you have seen the massive proliferation of workplace harassment complaints.  We all know that law firms are not immune!  In fact, there has been a noticeable increase in harassment claims brought against law firms.  As Administrators and those with HR responsibilities, you are critical to helping your firm maintain a workplace free from harassment and discrimination. You are the key to both prevention and correction.

We’ll discuss the traps into which your attorneys, managers and you fall regarding conduct and your affirmative responsibilities, addressing not only sexual but also racial, ethnic and other forms of unlawful harassment. This session will also examine the change in the law regarding unlawful retaliation and ways to ensure compliance.  In addition, we’ll talk about the implications of the proposed changes to sexual harassment laws in Connecticut.  The proposed changes include requiring companies with as few as three employees to provide sexual harassment prevention training, requiring companies to train ALL employees, not just supervisors, and changing the statute of limitations to allow people longer to file claims.  You can’t afford to miss this!
